KaushalConnect Platform

KaushalConnect is a free, non-profit mobile application developed under the initiative of the Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM), Government of Assam. This Privacy Policy explains how KaushalConnect collects, uses, shares, and protects user information when you use the application.

The KaushalConnect ecosystem currently includes two applications:

• KaushalConnect – Citizen App
• KaushalConnect Partner – Service Provider App

This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected when users interact with these applications.

By using the KaushalConnect applications, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Purpose of the Platform

The KaushalConnect platform helps citizens access skilled service providers trained under government programs such as DDU-GKY and RSETI. The applications allow users to search nearby professionals, book services, communicate with providers, and submit feedback.

Both applications are:

• Free to use
• Non-commercial
• Non-profit
• Advertisement-free

KaushalConnect Citizen App

The KaushalConnect Citizen App allows citizens to discover nearby service providers and book services.

Information Collected

• Mobile number (used for OTP login)
• Name
• Gender
• Service address / location
• Alternate mobile number (optional)

Device and Location Information

• Device ID (for account security and service management)
• Current device location to show nearby service providers

Usage Information

• Service booking details
• Ratings and reviews submitted by users

The Citizen App does not collect:

• Bank or payment information
• Debit or credit card details
• Passwords
• Biometric identifiers
• Government identity numbers

KaushalConnect Partner App

The KaushalConnect Partner App is designed for trained service providers who wish to offer services through the platform.

Information Collected During Registration

• Mobile number (used for OTP login)
• Name
• Email address
• Date of birth
• Religion
• Gender
• Aadhaar last 4 digits (for verification purposes)

Device and Location Information

• Device ID (for security and account verification)
• Device location to support service requests and job allocation

Photo and Document Upload

The Partner App may allow users to upload images such as profile photos, training certificates, or work documents. These images may be uploaded using:

• Camera
• Device gallery

Uploaded images are used only for profile verification and service credibility.

How We Use Information

The collected information is used only to support application functionality, including:

• User authentication through OTP
• Connecting citizens with trained service providers
• Enabling service booking and communication
• Improving platform performance and user experience
• Managing service provider profiles and service requests

User data is not used for advertising, marketing, or monetization.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

Personal information is shared only when required for service functionality. For example, a citizen’s mobile number may be shared with an assigned service provider after a booking is confirmed to allow service coordination.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data with third parties.

Permissions Used

The applications may request certain permissions to enable functionality:

• INTERNET – required for application functionality
• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION – to show nearby services
• READ_PHONE_STATE – for OTP verification
• CAMERA – for capturing profile photos or documents
• READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / STORAGE – for uploading images from device gallery

All permissions are used strictly for application functionality.

Third-Party Services

The applications may contain links to external websites or services that are not operated by ASRLM. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of such services and encourage users to review their policies separately.

Advertisements

KaushalConnect applications do not display advertisements and do not engage in ad tracking or monetization.

Children's Privacy

The applications are intended for general public use and do not specifically target children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we become aware that personal data belonging to a child has been provided, such information will be removed.

Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and administrative safeguards to protect user information from unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure. However, no electronic system can guarantee complete security.

Data Retention

User information is retained only for as long as necessary to provide services and comply with applicable regulations or program requirements.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Users are advised to review this page from time to time. Changes become effective immediately upon publication.
